Erin always wanted to be a skilled healer like her mother, but she never seemed to develop the same gift. Only when she meets Dain Phillips, who has less than a year to live due to a brain tumor, does her hidden gift surface. Dain was hoping to have Erin’s mother treat him, but it seems Erin is his only hope. Even though she can’t do much for his tumor, Dain hopes she can still comfort him in other ways. Are his actions just the products of base urges, or is there a stronger connection between them?

This one story was nice because the heroine is of Native American descent, while the hero is the typical Anglo-Saxon. The heroine decides to help the hero when she sees that he has a tumor in his head. I liked how both hero and heroine have their own skeletons in their closets. It makes it more interesting. I liked how they didn't have exactly like 5 pages into the book. They seem to let the romance grow. They learn more about each other and help them face their struggles. I also liked how they took some time away from each other in order to know if their feelings were true for each other. It was such a sweet ending.
