The book didn't have me swept off my feet nor hurling it into the fireplace with a matchstick in one hand and wood in the other. The hero thinks that the heroine gold digger because of debt she has accumulated and the fact that she's hanging out with his godfather. The hero doesn't trust her but because his godfather is nearing the end of his time, he marries her in order to make the man happy. To me, really lowering yourself hero. The heroine's debt is really from her step-sister and she is practically a doormat because she cleans and makes meals at another man's house for free because she is in "love" with him. She calls him a "friend" but that is bologna if I eve did hear it. The hero has an agreement drawn up on their marriage but that goes wrong. Then throughout the book, it's like they keep each other on their toes and not in a good way. The heroine doesn't take time to see if there are any other sides to the hero and when the heroine seems to push the hero's button, he doesn't sit down and explain what's going on. The three things that made me happy was the godfather and the fact that the hero was trying for weeks to get the heroine's antisocial dog to like him, and when the step-sister is confronted with the choice of money vs. sister; she chooses the sister. Other than that, not feeling a lot of satisfaction.
