BEAUTY AND THE RECLUSIVE PRINCE
Isabella keeps her family’s restaurant afloat with a secret ingredient—basil that she picks from the bank of a river on Prince Maximilliano’s property. Max never leaves his estate, and the rumor in town is that he’s some kind of monster. The prince saves Isabella when she slips and falls into the river, and she witnesses firsthand his kindness as well as the grief and guilt he carries from his wife’s death. Isabella makes it her mission to pull Max out of his reclusive grief and back into the town he is meant to protect. Falling in love with him wasn’t part of her plan, though…especially since Max has vowed to never allow himself happiness again.

I love how Isabella shower Max with kindness and her cheerful character definitely helped bringing back Max's confidence.
I like the people in this story who don't judge the book by its cover but also look into the contents of the book.
A comic full of fantasy colors.

- a sweet royal romance 5
- JAB 11/06/2016
I really liked this romance because there's no sex, no playboy prince, no over the top drama of paparazzi. We simply have an ordinary chef of a family restaurant and a reclusive prince broken over losing his wife. The heroine (the chef) is desperate to get the basil on the royal grounds because that's the only thing that is keeping their restaurant open since a former partner is doing everything to shut them down. The hero tries to keep her away but I love the stubbornness of the heroine to push forward. She is so kind to the hero and the hero himself is a gentleman. They spend time talking and eating, doing what any normal couple would do. Even though, the heroine suffers from the rumors, she stands strong in believing the hero is a great guy. I love how the hero comes to her rescue at the court room and exposes the evil former partner's scheme. It's sweet, romantic, and basically a modern and pure fairytale.
