THE TWELVE-MONTH MARRIAGE DEAL

Elena returns to her hometown of Seville to attend her older sister Reina’s engagement party. Her sister has been promised to Vidal Marquez, who is both an old childhood friends as well as Spain's foremost authority in banking. However, Reina has broken off her engagement and disappeared! Theirs wouldn’t have been a marriage of love; the purpose of the marriage was to get Vidal to give his assistance to the bank her parents own. Now that Reina has vanished, Elena gets offered up as a sacrifice after being in the wrong place at the wrong time! Elena has been aware of Vidal’s arrogance and coldheartedness ever since they were children. How can she ever marry a man like him?

too short but good plot 3  3

I liked where this plot was going the first half. However when we get to the main problem and their fake marriage is about to break, everything became fast-paced. I think this would have been better as a 145pgs. I think it really needed more time to build the conclusion.

3.5 has a bit of trust issue 4  4

There were some ups and downs to the story, one of them was the trust issue for the hero, though the man hasn't had the best of role models when it came to trust. His own father had an affair with a woman and got her pregnant, while his wife was struggling to live with a terminal illness. I do like the heroine and hero learning more and more about each other, things they didn't know like how the hero learning that the heroine hasn't been partying in LA but actually working for a living and the heroine learning that the hero isn't too bad. He has been a cold guy to a lot of people but I like how then heroine gives him that light to help him guide his way from being a snow king. I did love the confession between the two of them. It was a decent book to read.
