I really liked this book because it's about the hero seeing the hero beyond all what people say. The hero is the governor of Texas and the heroine runs her own catering company. They met because the hero hides in the kitchen from a fellow politicians who introduce their single female family members to them. The hero finds the heroine an interesting person and tries to get to know her more. What I liked what even though the hero was so persistent, he was a real and friendly gentleman to the heroine. They enjoyed each other and the heroine started to believe that he was the exception to the race of men. However, news of the heroine's past pop up. It turns out that when her father was a self proclaimed religious figure with their "special" camps. What the mother and the heroine didn't know was the was a tyrant and a rapist. So, when the truth came to light the paparazzi went after the heroine and her mother. The heroine was just a little girl and was trying to protect her mother. Now, this is the best part, even though he found out about everything, his opinion only changed for growing admiration for her strength and courage. I liked that even with other people saying don't go after her, look at her family, and all that he saw the true woman. It was such a great story to read.
