BILLIONAIRE ON HER DOORSTEP
With her marriage in shambles and divorce on the horizon, Maggie Bryce impulsively purchases an old, run-down house in scenic Sorrento, Australia. This sounds like an ideal investment for an artist of her caliber, but her emotional state has kept her from painting her next masterpiece. As the days go by, the handyman-for-hire chips away at the thorny wall of brambles blocking her path to the beach. But that’s not the only wall he’s working on. He wants to see what lies beyond that wall she’s built around her bruised heart.

The hero and heroine are on the run from the bad things in life. The heroine is running from a cheating husband and artist's block in her life and the hero is running from not being there when his sister died. They meet when the heroine buys a house on the go and needs a gardener to clear all the brush; here comes the hero. Now, over time, the two share coffee and meals and get to talking about each other. They push each to face their fears and acknowledge where the pain and the unwillingness to move forward comes from. There are still some issues with the heroine being married because even though her dumb husband cheated on her and got the other woman pregnant, the man still won't sign the divorce papers. I did appreciate the author and the illustrator not making any scenes where the hero and heroine having coitus under after the divorce was legalized. At first, I wanted the heroine to take it all from the husband but after hearing her decision and the reason why, I respected her for it. Apparently, the baby was born prematurely and is in intensive care. The care can really suck up the money and the guy will need to help his kid. The man finally does and it helps the hero and heroine move forward in their relationship. There are some bumps along the way but it's a great ending with the confession in front of the yard where it's bramble free and looks amazing. I liked the ending and it was a good read for me.
