SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE

Jamie Gibson is a lawyer who specializes in family law, so it’s not uncommon for her to be in the middle of heated arguments between divorcing spouses. But when Jamie is suddenly plagued by harassing phone calls, her parents hire her a bodyguard. To Jamie’s dismay, her new bodyguard is an exceptionally handsome blue-eyed devil named Sam Brimstone, and she’s stuck with him for thirty days. Feelings stir inside her as the threats she’d tossed aside as insignificant refuse to be ignored.

a good read 4  4

I liked this one quite much. The heroine is a lawyer who's made a lot of enemies as a family lawyer against abusive spouses and parents. Now, she's got some sort of a harasser on her tail. Despite her objections, her parents have hired her a bodyguard. The hero isn't too thrilled about protecting a lawyer but a job is a job. After enough pressure from her parents, the heroine gives in to the bodyguard hero. They have a rocky start with two strong independent minds but they were being mature and helpful towards each other. It makes it feel more adult but there's also a lot of pain that the two carry and later on, help each other lighten the burden. They also become closer and closer to the point where they find themselves in love with the other. We also get closer to the heroine's stalker, keeping the story interesting. They do get the individual in the end and I really liked how it ended with the hero and heroine.

Better than I thought 4  4

The rating was kinda misleading. This one didn't end up being one of my favorites but it wasn't bad either and instead of Drama created by the main characters out of thin air this one had warranted drama and also baggage that both characters had to sort of work through on their own. I ended up liking the story. I think it's worth the read if you enjoy romance with some suspense in it.
