Zoe, the daughter of millionaire Oscar Balfour, has always lived a life of luxury. But when she discovers that Oscar is not her biological father, her world collapses. Zoe, who has built her entire identity around being a Balfour, tries to forget by going out to parties night after night. One day at a gallery opening, she meets Max, a dark and gloomy man who stands out among the joyful crowd. They spend a dreamlike night together, but then he coldly dismisses her. In this story of love and resurrection, can these two mend their broken hearts?

Hero and heroine both have such gentle eyes that probably could draw anyone to them but they both are somehow twisted in characters. It is nice to see how they mend each other's heart.

I read the review on the original book and it was comic harlequin was parallel to what the reviewers said about the heroine. Plus, I was a bit disappointed in the heroine. The author gave us a heroine with potential and character to do a lot in her life but she let herself down a lot. For example, towards the end of the book, she commented of how she loved studying plants and wanted to become a botanist but because she thought that she wasn't smart enough, she gave up. Instead, she became a partying all night and sleeping all day Balflour girl. The heroine decided at a young age that she wasn't smart but doing a job doesn't always require you to be a genius but to have the confidence and determination to work hard for such a dream. Then in her mid twenties, her father reveals that they're not related by blood but still loves and supports her. However, he wants her to find her biological father (who firsts rejects her then tells her to set an appointment with him in order to have her sign an agreement that she won't reveal her paternity in exchange for money. I was so glad that she tore that agreement up. Not to mention that she had a real father who loved her for who she is). The hero is suffering from the news that he is going blind and can't open up to anyone. Not to mention of how badly he first took the news of the heroine's pregnancy then decided it wanted to take part then backed out. I just couldn't find a connection with the plot, the characters, and more. That is just my opinion anyway.
