This was such a good romance for me, I enjoyed the thrills, the drama, and the realism of it all. I was enthralled with it. We have a heroine who's haunted by her past of being date raped but being told by her abusive husband that he date raped her and pressured her into marrying him when she was found to be pregnant. It only another beating from him for her to lose the baby and she's joined the hero's frontlines to promote aid as a new start. I say that's one of the best ways to make a fresh start if not dangerous. Now, one of the things I pointed out was the realism in the book that shows in the doctors who have to make hard choices when saving many lives as the clock ticks, it shows the intensity and the emotion that both veteran frontline doctors know and the new ones experience. They begin this relationship that has ups and downs with the tension of being doctors and humans. It seems to be fine till the heroine gets hurt from a landmine and the hero starts pushing the heroine away by trying to send her away and even using another woman to do it. The heroine is heartbroken and returns back home but decides to go back to the country to help the people but the organization won't let her. She was certainly surprised to find the hero standing outside her apartment door, yet more when he calls her his amore. He says that he left the frontline to be with her and he couldn't stand the idea of her being on the frontline when he risked losing her. Their feelings of love are able to meet each other and they rebuild their bridge of love stronger than before. I really liked this one with all the themes and genres put into this story.
