The heroine is desperately playing the role of an escort with a safe man in order to pay for her niece's treatment till she catches the eye of the hero. He finds her traits and need for money to be the perfect solution in helping him with his inheritance problem. It turns out he didn't do as his father wanted and settled down. Now, the proceeds will go to the secretary who is also the mistress. It's no mystery why the hero didn't listen. He proposes a contract of marriage and after much thought, the heroine agrees to it. They meet each other's families, which helps them learn a little more about each other like the heroine feeling responsible for her brother's accident (went to get her a cake for her passing an exam and got into a car accident) and the hero finding out the hard way that the secretary and his father were lovers when his sick mother was alive (something he didn't know till he was older and loved the secretary like a 2nd mother). Things escalate after the hero and heroine get married: niece goes into emergency surgery, hero's father marries the secretary, and the heroine finds out she's pregnant. A lot of things that they reveal and/ or keep to themselves. Then the hero says when his father dies, so does their marriage. Then right off the bat, the father dies and the two are panicking because they don't want the marriage to end. They separate on sorry terms with both being miserable without the other. The hero finally has a talk with the secretary who reveals the heroine's pregnancy. He makes progress in rebuilding his relationship with the secretary. Then he heads to the hospital where the heroine's little niece has pulled through. The heroine takes him aside and with courage, bares his true feelings to her. They decide to try once more in making their marriage work. Then we fast forward to the heroine's approaching due date and the hero waiting impatiently for their child to arrive.
