The heroine and the hero are going into a marriage of convenience because he's a prince and she's loved by the public for being a commoner. However, the heroine doesn't believe the hero loves her. They started out as childhood friends but one photo from the paparazzi has the masses suddenly demanding to see the rings. They get engaged for six years before getting married; by that time, the heroine sees the hero doesn't love her. It's actually their wedding night is when the two sit down and talk for the first time. It ends poorly with the bed being cold like the hero's heart. I did like that we get to see both the hero and heroine's thoughts throughout the story. The heroine is able to get the hero to open up about the love lack world he lived in thanks to his parents who only posed for family photos before running off to their own pleasures. Even the hero's brother left because he couldn't stand the life there. Things get better in their relationship what with strawberries and champagne but the media rears its ugly head by posting a three year old picture of the heroine kissing a male friend on the cheek. The hero believes the heroine's words but they have to cut their honeymoon short in order minimize the damage. I loved how the hero shut his image grubbing parents up then they have a lovely interview that has people disbelieving the photo. As things start coming together, the hero's long lost brother appears in order to help relieve the burden. Yet, the hero thinks with the older brother back, he's lost his place on the throne and the heroine who he thinks married him for the title of queen. He tells the heroine what will happen and she pours out her heart that she's never wanted the crown but the hero. She confesses her love and he confesses that he's fallen in love with her too. It ends with them wanting to continue their marriage.
