I found it to be a romantic story. It's by a mistake that the heroine bids on the hero at a charity auction because she thinks he's a rescue worker when he's really the head of a huge company. She is quite surprised but she doesn't hold back because she needs a fake boyfriend in order to convince her family that she doesn't want to go back home and loves working as the owner of a successful despite being small daycare center. The hero is also surprised by the heroine's appearance imaging a middle aged cougar but not a woman like the heroine. The hero hasn't had an easy life since he ran away from an arranged marriage and lived a hard life of where he was beaten and poor to throwing away his pride to become a gigolo. He used his position of gigolo to build connections and company and stopped offering his services. I found this little piece of the hero to be very interesting because it's what keeps him from finding true love since offering his services makes him feel he's unable to love. I liked how the two communicate with not just the heroine's family in food and football but also when caring for the heroine's tots who pull the hero's hair and give him plastic vegetables to eat. It was really cute and this time spent has them wanting more but the hero is the one who holds back the most because he's ashamed of his past. He's unable to get past even with the heroine's declaration of love after hearing about and accepting it nor hearing about her past of having a relationship with a married but not knowing about till the ex's wife assaulted and screeched at her. The heroine gives the hero space and that she will wait for him before leaving his place. Two weeks later, the hero's fairy godmother in the form of his sister comes to and makes him realize that he wants to be with her. However, he goes to see his father before he goes to see the heroine and it went better than the hero thought it would Afterwards, the hero sends the heroine postcards of the places he's at and that he wants to visit with her. They share a special moment on the beach and we skip to a cute wedding where it all happily ends.
