While Lisa was grieving her mother’s death, her stepbrother, with whom she was on bad terms, for some reason introduced her to Alex, a famous entrepreneur. The meeting was like a lightning strike—Lisa fell in love with Alex at first sight and accepted his proposal to marry. In her dreamlike newly married life, Lisa was fulfilled in mind and body, but it didn’t last very long. Lisa happened to hear about Alex’s plan to destroy the company she’d inherited from her late mother. How could she have been tricked by his sweet words and fallen for his trap?

So this romance was a bit of a borderline between okay and not really my cup of tea. I mean, the beginning of the romance goes fine with the heroine being swept off her feet by the hero that was introduced by her scheming stepbrother. She doesn't think of it till after their honeymoon when the hero overhears the step-brother & the hero talking about a take over the heroine's family company. Now, for most of the book, she's trying to figure out what's going with finding out the company shares are being bought out by the hero's sub-companies. It also doesn't help there are OW (hero's ex & new stepmother) who only strengthen her doubt that the hero only married her for her company. Later, she goes to meet a male friend for advice but the hero sees them and it goes south. The heroine thinks he's going to announce her "infidelity" to the company's board and have her ousted from the company. The stepbrother is so arrogant that he reveals his plan. However, the tables turn on him when the hero announces that the bough stocks will go to the heroine; shocking the whole room of people. The stepbrother makes a scene but is shut up by hero and stepfather. The man sores out to never be seen again. Later on, the hero tells the heroine that he was only working with the step-brother in order to stop him from hurting the heroine. The heroine admits that she overheard the conversation between the hero and stepbrother. The hero tells that he's been in love with her since day one and was jealous of the male friend. The heroine confesses that she loves him too. Then we get a happy end with the two of them planning another vacation. It was all good and well but it wasn't really my cup of tea with all secrets & such.
