Tony Caroselli will receive thirty million dollars if he gets married within the year and provides a male heir. So Tony, who has no interest in relationships, has offered Alice a short-term business arrangement. But on their wedding day, an unexpected guest turns up—Lucy. The hero goes through a bad breakup where his wonderful girlfriend whom he loves dearly just suddenly leaves him without notice and a note that they had great time together. He decides to go through fake marriage with a friend who has dreams, ambition, and no problem to having a loveless marriage with a friend. However, on the day of his wedding where the grandfather has refused to acknowledge it is when the heroine (the ex-girlfriend) stumbles forward with her large belly. The whole thing shocks everyone and the hero even more but not the bride who turns out to be the very woman who emailed the heroine to come to the church. She takes the expensive ring and leaves the hero and heroine well wishes to fix things up. When the angry parents and relatives are hustled out by the previous heroes and heroines. The hero and heroine don't talk things immediately but it gives us a chance to see how their relationship started with the heroine accidentally almost burning the papers that told the hero that he's not related to his dad. Their first impression is bad but after talking to the heroine about his most recent past problem, the heroine gives him encouragement and he gives her a job and a place to stay. Now, whatI liked about this was them being friends then developing a romantic relationship that later went on to be physical. We're back to the present where the heroine says she found out she was pregnant before her disappearance and disappeared because 1) she and the hero were from two different worlds (despite the fact that the hero has had her meet his some of his family) & she based off his opinion of having kids off of his opinion of furniture. Now, it's unfair to the heroine because he's never made her feel or treated her that way. Plus, you can't base a person's opinion of babies and families by their opinion of furniture!! So, the hero and heroine decide to put their best foot forward and help each other through this with lots of help coming from other people like the cousins and the hero's mom who sweet. I really liked this one and even with the big obstacle at the end, we have a great ending. I definitely recommend this book to rent or buy.
